I was first introduced to CrossFit in high school in Newtown, Connecticut. Our baseball coach had us train in the winter to stay in shape for the spring season. I wasn’t a standout athlete, but I took pride in pushing myself and improving my fitness. After one semester of college, I enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Germany as an intelligence analyst. That’s where I rediscovered CrossFit. I trained mostly on my own until I was relocated to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where I joined a local CrossFit gym and became part of a true training community.

That period wasn’t easy. I went through two knee surgeries, long 12-hour shifts, and the challenges of lockdown. Training became the one constant-something I could rely on to manage stress, stay disciplined, and connect with others. No matter how demanding life got, I made my fitness a priority. After leaving the military, I moved to Davie and began coaching at CrossFit Showdown. Within a year and a half, I took over as the owner. For the next three years, I led and grew the gym, helping members build consistency, confidence, and real results. As the gym evolved, so did the vision.

We relocated to University Pointe in Davie to create a more personalized, intimate training environment focused on small group coaching and individual attention. Today, Showdown Training Club is built to help busy adults train consistently, improve their fitness, and achieve results that last.
