As we prepare for our big move, we’re hosting one final Intramural Open at CrossFit Showdown—one last opportunity to come together, push our limits, and celebrate the incredible community we’ve built.

From February 28th to March 14th, members will compete in a fun, team-based version of the CrossFit Open, earning points through workouts, participation, and community challenges. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or new to the gym, the Intramural Open is designed for everyone to enjoy.

Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s event, including how to sign up, earn points, and make the most of the experience.

What Is The Intramural Open?

The Intramural Open is a gym-wide competition that brings our community together in a supportive, high-energy environment. Unlike the standard CrossFit Open, where athletes compete individually, our version is team-based—meaning every rep, cheer, and challenge helps your team succeed.

Over the course of three weeks, CrossFit HQ will release an Open workout every Thursday evening. We will complete these workouts at the gym on Friday. To score points for your team, all you need to do is show up—they’re counting on you!

This event is about much more than just competition—it’s about camaraderie, pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, and having a great time with your fellow athletes.

How to Earn Points and Compete

One of the best parts of the Intramural Open is that there are multiple ways to contribute, no matter your skill level. Teams can earn points through the following:

  • 🏋️‍♂️ Completing the Workout – Simply showing up to the Friday Open workout will score your team +1 point.
  • 🎯 Top 3 Male and Female – The top 3 male and female scores will receive +3 points.
  • 🎭 Theme Week Participation – Each week will have a theme. Dressing up and getting into the spirit will earn your team +1 point.

Week 1 Theme: Gym Bros vs. Yoga Pros
Week 2 Theme: Wild West Workout
Week 3 Theme: Neon Night

  • 📸 Social Media – Post a picture or video of your Open experience, tag the gym, and use our event hashtag to earn +1 point.
  • 🎲 Mini-Challenges & Games – Outside of the workouts, we’ll host fun side competitions like “Rowling” (hitting exactly 100m on the rower), the fastest flip cup, and a surprise mini-game in our final week!

Why You Should Participate

Whether you’ve done the Open before or this is your first time, there are plenty of reasons to get involved:

  • Challenge Yourself – The Intramural Open is a great opportunity to test your progress and step outside your comfort zone. You may surprise yourself with what you can achieve.
  • Support Your Community – The competition isn’t just about individual performance; it’s about coming together as a team and lifting each other up.
  • Make It Fun – With team challenges, creative themes, and exciting events, this competition is designed to be as much about enjoyment as it is about fitness.

How To Sign Up

Signing up is simple—just stop by the front desk and let a coach know you’re in. Registration is $50. We’ll draft teams and announce them before the competition kicks off on February 28th.
